More than a meal plan. An everyday food experience.
Right Bite brings together dietitian-designed meal plans, personalized nutrition, flexible delivery, Express meals, and expert support in one food and wellness experience.
The product needed to help customers discover the right plan, understand what it included, personalize it around their goals, and stay in control as their needs changed.
My work spanned that end-to-end journey — from onboarding and plan discovery to personalization, meal selection, delivery flexibility, and the systems connecting them.
This case study shows how I turned a complex meal-plan service into a clearer, more flexible product experience.
It covers onboarding, plan discovery, eligibility, personalization, live configuration, meal selection, delivery flexibility, and ongoing plan management — showing how service rules and customer needs were translated into one connected system.
THE BUSINESS CONTEXT
One service. Many ways to make it personal.
Right Bite was evolving beyond fixed meal plans into a broader food and wellness experience — combining personalized plans, flexible delivery, partner offerings, Express meals, and dietitian support.
The challenge was not simply offering more choice. It was making those services work together without asking customers to understand the operational complexity behind them.

MY ROLE
Designing the experience across the customer journey.
My role combined product strategy, hands-on UX/UI design, and systems thinking across Right Bite’s evolving digital experience — turning complex service requirements into clear, connected customer journeys.
I worked closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Business, and the VP of Customer Experience to balance customer needs, commercial priorities, brand objectives, and operational constraints.
Product direction
Shaped key journeys, product behaviors, and experience decisions across plans, personalization, meals, scheduling, and delivery.
Hands-on product design
Designed flows, interaction patterns, prototypes, and production-ready experiences across key product journeys.
Cross-functional alignment
Worked across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Business, and Customer Experience to turn competing requirements into clear product decisions.
Systems & scalability
Created reusable patterns, guidelines, and foundations that could support new plans, services, brands, and product capabilities.
PRODUCT CHALLENGE
Personalization creates value — and complexity.
The more Right Bite adapts to an individual customer, the more decisions the product has to manage: goals, meal types, dietary preferences, delivery days, plan duration, flexibility, benefits, and what happens when plans change.
The opportunity was to keep that complexity behind the experience, giving customers meaningful control without making them configure every detail before moving forward.
THE DESIGN QUESTION
How do you make a highly personalized meal-plan experience feel simple enough to choose, flexible enough to live with, and clear enough to trust?

1x
One meal-plan experience, many connected decisions.
Goals, preferences, plan structure, meals, and delivery all shape one another.

⚙️
Complexity belongs in the system — not in the customer experience.
EXPERIENCE STRATEGY
Personalize progressively.
Customers shouldn’t have to configure everything before understanding the value of a plan.
The experience was structured to introduce decisions only when they became relevant, while keeping the impact of each choice visible.
1
Start with intent
Understand the customer’s goal before asking for configuration.
2
Reveal complexity gradually
Introduce preferences, plan details, and operational choices only when they become relevant.
3
Keep consequences visible
Show how each decision affects meals, schedule, price, nutrition, and benefits.
🎯
The goal was not to remove complexity — it was to reveal the right complexity at the right moment.
ONBOARDING
Make the first experience clear before asking for commitment.
Right Bite introduced customers to more than a traditional meal-plan service. Personalized plans, flexible delivery, Express meals, partner brands, and dietitian support all needed to be understood without overwhelming someone entering the product for the first time.
The onboarding journey was divided into focused moments: selecting a market and language, understanding Right Bite’s value, accessing or creating an account, completing verification, and granting relevant permissions.
Each step asked for one thing at a time. Explanations appeared when they became relevant, and the experience remained consistent across English and Arabic.
Choose context
Set the customer’s market and preferred language.
Understand the value
Introduce the experience before asking for registration.
Access the account
Keep sign-in and verification focused and familiar.
Enable the experience
Request permissions only when their benefit is clear.
Value first. Access second. Permissions in context.
🔐
Give every request a reason — context before sign-up, value before permissions.
PLAN DISCOVERY
Choose the experience before configuring the details.
Right Bite offered multiple meal-plan models around different goals, specialist needs, convenience, and partner brands — each with its own pricing, benefits, flexibility, and availability.
The challenge was to expose that breadth without making customers understand the entire ecosystem before they could make a choice.
Explore was structured around progressive discovery. High-level categories — Goals, Specialty, Convenience, and Partners — created the first decision point. Plan cards then surfaced the information needed to compare options: positioning, starting price, included benefits, flexibility, and relevant perks.
Richer capabilities such as Express swaps, dining benefits, skipping, and partner experiences were introduced only when they became relevant to the selected plan.
Discover

Compare

Select

Personalize
Configure meals, portions, schedule, and preferences.
🧭
Help customers choose the type of experience first—then progressively reveal the complexity behind each plan.
AVAILABILITY & ELIGIBILITY
The experience adapts to what’s actually available.
Plans, benefits, and flexibility vary by customer context. The system evaluates eligibility before presenting only the options that apply.

PERSONALIZATION
Configure the plan without starting over.
Customers could begin with a recommended plan and then adjust meals, portions, delivery days, duration, and preferences through a live configurator.
Instead of moving through disconnected forms, the plan stayed visible while pricing, nutrition, eligibility, and configuration updated as choices changed.

PRODUCT LANGUAGE
Bring the new Right Bite identity into the product.
The refreshed identity needed to work across very different customer moments—from onboarding and discovery to plan configuration, meal selection, delivery management, and account control.
I translated the identity into a consistent digital language across typography, color, imagery, graphic forms, spacing, and components—making Right Bite recognizable without compromising hierarchy or familiar interaction patterns.
That language shaped navigation, plan cards, controls, content hierarchy, feedback states, and key decision moments—making brand expression part of how the interface communicates, not decoration applied around it.
1
Consistent foundations
Typography, color, spacing, imagery, and graphic forms.
2
Reusable components
Shared cards, controls, actions, and feedback states.
3
Flexible expression
Enough flexibility to give different product moments character while keeping the experience recognizably Right Bite.

Brand expression should strengthen usability—not compete with it.
OUTCOME
Complexity absorbed. Experience simplified.
The work brought plan discovery, personalization, delivery flexibility, and product language into one connected experience — creating a foundation that could support more plans, services, and customer scenarios without requiring a different interaction model for each one.
Clearer discovery
Customers understand the type of plan before configuring the details.
Progressive personalization
Complexity appears only when it becomes relevant.
Flexible plan management
Customers can adapt individual days or pause the plan without rebuilding it.
Reusable product foundations
Shared patterns support new plans, services, and product capabilities.

The goal was not to make the service less sophisticated. It was to make that sophistication feel manageable.
